Dr. Kushlev was awarded the Magis Prize by Georgetown University’s Office of the Provost. The prize recognizes associate professors with exceptional creativity who make a profound impact in their field of scholarship. It provides $100,000 of research funding and two semesters of research leave. The funds will be used to conduct research on a critically important question: Can artificial intelligence be designed to support, rather than substitute for, the effortful intellectual engagement on which human flourishing depends?
